ABOUT MASON RHODES
Mason Rhodes is a San Antonio based artist working primarily within traditional printmaking processes along with contemporary drawing forms, currently pursuing his BFA from the Southwest School of Art, and serving as the Vicepresident of the South Texas Print Union.
Rhodes’ work reflects the reality of a failed nuclear family resulting in a broken sense of “Home” and a battered sense of identity. Symbols of Home such as bird nests, religious figures, and bricks are manipulated to highlight the hypocrisy and alienation experienced within a fractured family unit.
